A free community event is set to take place on Tuesday 23 September at Banwen Community Centre, offering a fun and engaging day out for local residents and families while highlighting the wide range of adult learning opportunities available through the Dove Workshop.
Running from 10am to 3pm, the event is a collaborative effort between Dove Workshop, Adult Learning Wales, Powys Neath Port Talbot Adult Learning and NPTC Group of Colleges. It aims to showcase the variety of courses on offer and give attendees the chance to try out activities through hands-on tasters.
Activities on the day will include tasters in:
- Art
- Pyrography
- Digital skills
- Photography
- British Sign Language (BSL)
- Welsh love spoon carving
- Numeracy and literacy
As well as exploring what’s on offer for adults, families are encouraged to come along and enjoy free refreshments, an ice cream van, and children’s activities including face painting.
Kathryn Dunstan, who is the Assistant Principal: Commercial at NPTC Group of Colleges said: “This event is a fantastic opportunity for anyone thinking about taking up a new hobby, building their skills, or returning to learning. There’s something for everyone, and it’s a great chance to meet the tutors, ask questions, and try something new in a relaxed and welcoming setting.”
The event is completely free to attend, and no booking is required.
