Learners in North Powys ‘get digital’ at the start of the new academic year

As we head towards the half term break, learners across Wales have been settling in to their new courses provided by Adult Learning Wales.

One course in Welshpool, led by Adult Learning Wales Tutor Tracey Hickman, has been welcoming in new learners from across North Powys to help improve their digital skills.

“My Digital Literacy Course is being held in partnership with Ponthafren, a registered charity providing a wellness, learning and recovery service in North Powys –every Tuesday from 10.00am to 12.30pm at their Welshpool centre.”

“The new academic year has already started, but new learners are always welcome to join and learn in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with one learner just starting the course. It’s not just about learning, it’s about mixing with other people, and it feels like a family on the course” said Tracey.

The learners on Tracey’s Digital Literacy Course are currently developing their understanding of spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Other subjects that will be covered over the term include word processing, use of applications, internet safety and digital footprint.

The levels of the learners range from Entry Level 2 to Level 1, and new learners from across North Powys who would like to improve their digital skills are welcome to join by emailing Tracey directly at tracey.hickman@adultlearning.wales
